Living next to the Great Lakes, it is easy to take fresh, potable water for granted. But in many places around the planet, reliable access to clean water simply does not exist and thousands of people consequently die every day.
There is no greater issue facing the world than the global water scarcity and quality crisis, say the producers of Running Dry, a 2005 documentary film that details the crisis and advocates changes to make clean water "a universal human right."
A showing of the film, free to the public, will take place Thursday, July 29 at 7:00 pm in the Dierkes Community Room at the La Grange Public Library. The event is co-sponsored by the Library and Go Green La Grange.
Seating reservations are recommended. Click here to access to submit a registration form online, or phone the Library at 708-352-0576.
