A van allegedly used in the robbery was found by police near the Borders bookstore, 1 N La Grange Ave, around 3:50 p.m. the same day. The vehicle was reported stolen from the 2900 block of 87th St in Chicago.

Witnesses told police the van had been in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven with its hood open for several hours prior to the robbery.

One of the suspects brandished a handgun during the robbery, which occurred while a male clerk was alone in the store, police said. The employee was unharmed.
